Why Your Self-Care is Non-Negotiable

So, some time ago I did an Instagram live on Self Care being a mindset.
And this is why I did that live.
I was doing some Market Research and I asked this question "Do you practice self-care?"
The overwhelming majority said sometimes.
A few said not at all (which to their defense is not entirely true)!
But those responses told a story. An important one at that!
Those responses confirm that too many people see self-care as an extension of their daily lives or some activities to indulge in every now and again! But, the reality is that self care is the foundation of a healthy life and must be seen as such!
A 2019 study carried out by,The Harris Poll conducted a survey among doctors. The purpose of the study was to get doctor’s feedback on how important self-care is. Unsurprisingly, 96 % of the doctors who responded said that self-care should be considered an essential part of one's overall health.
So you see, self care is far more than an indulgence! It encompasses the mind-body-spirit connection, and there is no true wellness if your mind, body, and spirit are not in alignment.
Many researches have corroborated that having a defined and consistent self-care routine is one of the most effective ways to help prevent and treat chronic health conditions including depression, anxiety, and chronic stress.
How you care for yourself impacts how you feel and show up every day. It is all in how you eat, sleep, move, relax, and connect with others that leads to having a healthy life.
Now, understanding the importance of self care and actually knowing how to implement self-care practices into your daily routine can be difficult. But, you don't have to try to figure it out on your own.
